Designed while a project designer at SRG Partnership, the Oregon Institute of Marine Biology is a field station and teaching facility for both undergraduate and graduate students of the University of Oregon. It was designed using the principles of the Pattern Language and a group design process.
Facilities include classrooms, dormitories, salt water research labs, a central dining hall, field trip staging area, and cabins for visiting faculty. Buildings were placed to form a series of interconnected courtyards to reinforce the programmatic and social structure of the campus.
