Northwest Portland Residence

A family with two young children, they asked for a mid-century modern house, modified by various Asian cultural and architectural influences. The rooms nestle into a hillside, wrapping around a courtyard on one side and opening to views of the Tualatin River valley on the other. A meandering plan, natural wood ranging from exposed plywood to refined paneling, and varied ceiling heights make spaces both intimate and airy.
