Purcell Residence

Portland, Oregon
1994

A house for an active family with two teenage boys with the following specific requirements: large family room adjacent to the kitchen with eating area open to outdoor space; formal dining room; separate small living room/study; grand vestibule; front porch; and area for a hot tub. The small yet secluded sloping site enjoys a view of Mt. Hood.

The Purcell residence was my first major residential commission, begun shortly after my return from Finland, with all the customary influences clearly visible.
